A dentist who took the long road, and brought everything he learned back to Keene

My path to dentistry wasn't exactly a straight line. I studied International Relations and History in college, spent a year teaching English in China, and only started seriously considering dentistry after a conversation with a classmate pointed me in a new direction. Once I started shadowing dentists, something clicked. I loved the blend of healthcare and hands-on problem-solving, but even more than that, I liked the idea of building real, long-term relationships with patients and becoming part of the community I served.

I went on to graduate summa cum laude from Boston University's dental program and commissioned into the U.S. Army on a scholarship. My first duty station took me to Colorado Springs, where I trained in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. From there, my military career took me much farther from home. I served a 12-month peacekeeping mission in Egypt as the senior dentist on a team of three, followed by three years at a large dental clinic at the Pentagon.

After completing my military service and spending a half a year practicing in Australia, I had the opportunity to purchase Elm City Dental Care here in Keene. Now, six years into my career as a dentist, one thing has remained remarkably consistent: some of the best care begins by slowing down. Listening closely, looking carefully, and being honest with patients about what I see continues to guide the way I practice every day.

A team that genuinely enjoys coming to work, and it shows

One of the things I'm most proud of at Elm City Dental Care is the team we've built. From our hygienists Amber, Kate, and Tayler, to our assistant Shilo, to Sara at the front desk keeping everything moving, everyone shares the same commitment to making patients feel comfortable, respected, and well cared for.

We make time to enjoy being a team outside of patient care, too. We celebrate milestones, plan team-building events, and get a little competitive when the occasion calls for it. Our annual team costume contest has become a favorite tradition, and we even took second place this year. Those moments may happen behind the scenes, but I think patients can feel the difference when they walk into an office where people genuinely enjoy working alongside one another.

We've created the office with that same sense of ease in mind. The space is warm and modern, with a comfort menu that lets you choose what would make your visit more relaxing. Treatment rooms include personal TVs with premium streaming options, along with music and Bose noise-cancelling headphones if you'd rather tune everything else out. And Clementine, our emotional support dog, is here with us every day for patients who appreciate a little four-legged company.

Even our hygiene visits are designed to be more thoughtful. We offer guided biofilm therapy using advanced airflow technology to gently and precisely remove plaque, biofilm, and surface stains while minimizing scraping and discomfort. And when restorative treatment is needed, technology like same-day crowns allows us to make certain parts of your care simpler and more convenient.

Comprehensive care that covers more than you might expect

At Elm City Dental Care, a comprehensive exam is about much more than checking for cavities. We take the time to look at your oral health as a whole, including an oral cancer screening, TMD evaluation, complete periodontal charting, and screenings for sleep and airway concerns, orthodontic needs, and bruxism.

That thoroughness gives us a clearer picture of what's happening now and what could become an issue later. From preventive and restorative dentistry to clear aligners, snoring and airway concerns, and same-day crowns, our goal is to help you reach and maintain optimal oral health with care that makes sense for you. Just as important is making sure you understand what we find. If treatment is recommended, I'll walk you through the available options, explain the benefits and considerations of each, and make room for questions. Sometimes choosing not to move forward with treatment right away is an option, too. My role is to give you the information you need to make a confident decision, not to make that decision for you.
